Weather Service Confirms Low-Grade Tornado Hit Long Island
The National Weather Service has confirmed that a low-grade tornado touched down on Long Island.
Newsday reports that the tornado had winds of about 85 mph when it landed for three minutes in Ronkonkoma at 11:20 p.m. on Tuesday.
It caused some damage to homes. Several trees landed on cars.
The tornado’s path was 400 yards long and 200 yards wide.
