Yerushalayim Police Announce Preparations Ahead of Rosh Hashanah

The Israel Police service said Thursday that it has completed preparations for security over Rosh Hashanah.

Border Police officers and volunteers will be deployed throughout the city, in crowded places, shopping centers and markets, around the Old City and its alleyways and in the area of ​​batei medrash across the city to maintain order and security, to secure mispallelim, and to organize and direct traffic.

Already from Sunday, Erev Rosh Hashanah, police activity will be intensified around the Old City and its alleyways and the Kosel.

On Erev Rosh Hashanah, the entrance to the Old City [Jaffa Gate] will be closed to private vehicles, except for the local residents.

The police call upon residents to be patient and to obey the instructions of policemen.
