Off-Duty NYPD Officer Wounds Man Who Tried to Rob Him

The New York Police Department said that an off-duty officer has shot and wounded a man who tried to rob him in Brooklyn.
Police said that the 21-year-old man was in stable condition after he was shot in the mouth early Thursday. It happened at the intersection of Livonia and New Jersey Avenues.
The officer was taken to a hospital with ringing in the ears caused by the sound of the gunshot.
