Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has announced that he plans to travel to Colombia in early September for the inauguration of President Iván Duque Márquez.

This will be Netanyahu’s second trip to the South American state in less than a year.

On September 14, 2017, Netanyahu was in the capital Bogota as part of a South American trip. At the time, he held a three-hour meeting with outgoing president Juan Manuel Santos.

Colombia has maintained friendly relations with Israel over the years.
