Syrian Rockets Land in Kinneret, No Injuries
In another spillover from the Syrian civil war, two rockets overflew the Golan Heights and landed in the Kinneret on Wednesday, about 30 miles from the northern border, according to media reports. B’chasdei shamayim, no injuries were reported.
The IDF confirmed on Wednesday evening that an unspecified number of Syrian rockets were found in the waters of the Kinneret. The search for the projectiles was carried out after eyewitnesses near the lake reported hearing explosions in the vicinity, the Israeli Police Spokesperson said in a statement.
The projectiles triggered air defense sirens in the Golan at about 5:15 p.m., sending residents and many tourists and students on vacation rushing for cover.
