NEW YORK – Rising socialist star Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday exchanged endorsements with Zephyr Teachout, who is in an uphill battle for the Democratic line for New York attorney general, The Associated Press reported. Ocasio-Cortez won an upset victory over Rep. Joe Crowley last month.

NYC Identifies 8 Cases of Legionnaires’ in 1 Area

NEW YORK– New York City is investigating a cluster of eight Legionnaires’ disease cases in Washington Heights, The Associated Press reported. The Health Department is testing water from all cooling tower systems and held a community meeting on Thursday.

Crews Disentangle Distressed Humpback Whale From Net

SANDY HOOK, N.J. – Crews on Wednesday disentangled a humpback whale that got caught in a gill net, The Associated Press reported. The 30-foot-long whale had the net wrapped around its mouth and looping around its blowhole.

Murphy Agrees on Deal for 3 ‘Ask the Governor’ Shows

TRENTON – New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy reached a deal Thursday with local public radio stations to air three call-in shows through the end of the year, The Associated Press reported. It comes after Murphy canceled his May interview when the stations wanted to have a reporter ask questions.

Man Gets Sea-Doo Back 6 Years After Sandy

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – A man was reunited with his Sea-Doo six years after it was swept away in Hurricane Sandy, NJ.com reported. Douglas Ferrigno got a call that a man 6 miles away was about to clear the watercraft when he found a number on it. The Sea-Doo roared back to life with a new battery.
