Iranian Commander Says Awaiting Command to Destroy Israel

A high-level Iranian military official has confirmed what Israel has been saying for months—that his country’s intentions in Syria are hostile to Israel.

If any confirmation was needed, Hossein Salami, commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) declared in a recent speech that the “Islamic army in Syria” is awaiting orders to eradicate the “evil regime” of Israel.

Lebanon too is a staging area for Iran and its proxies:

“We are creating might in Lebanon because we want to fight our enemy from there with all our strength,” he said.& “Hezbollah today has tremendous might on the ground that can on its own break the Zionist regime. The Zionist regime has no strategic defensive depth,” The Times of Israel reported on Monday.

“Today an international Islamic army has been formed in Syria, and the voices of the Muslims are heard near the Golan,” he said. “Orders are awaited, so that… the eradication of the evil regime [Israel] will land and the life of this regime will be ended for good. The life of the Zionist regime was never in danger as it is now.”

Israel has repeatedly stated that it will not allow the Iranian presence in Syria to continue, and that it will take whatever measures are necessary to remove the threat.

On Sunday night, Syrian and Lebanese media alleged that the Israeli Air Force attacked a military base near Homs where Iranian forces are stationed. Israel would not confirm or deny the reports.
