The Israeli Air Force carried out a strike against the T4 base in Syria where Iranian forces are stationed, according to Syrian and Lebanon news media reports on Sunday night.
Air defense systems in the region of rural Homs were triggered, according to the Syrian news agency SANA.
“The air defenses brought down a number of the missiles of the aggression on T4 airport,” SANA claimed, adding that the attack caused only material damage, but no casualties.
A Syrian military official was quoted by Al-Masdar as saying that at least one IAF fighter jet scored a hit on the base despite a heavy barrage of S-200 surface-to-air missile batteries.
Israeli military sources have not commented.
