Woman Arrested After Threatening Jewish Children in London With Knife

Terrified children were chased by a woman brandishing a large knife on Sunday evening in Stamford Hill, London.

The woman threatened a group of between 13 and 15 young Jewish children who had just left a shul in South Totteham, waving her knife and shouting, “I want to kill all you Jews!” Baruch Hashem, no one was hurt.

Shomrim volunteers apprehended the woman and alerted the police. Police officers responded to a report of “a woman in possession of a knife behaving erratically.” She was arrested on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offense.

A police spokesperson said that the woman, 47, “remains in custody at an east London police station. She is expected to undergo a mental health assessment in due course.” The incident was not terror related.

Rabbi Herschel Gluck OBE, President of Shomrim, said, “This is another worrying incident of knife crime in London coupled with hate/anti-Semitic crime. Much more needs to be done to tackle and stop this terrible scourge which is tragically running rampant in our city.”
