IDF Soldier Fighting for His Life After Terror Attack Near Ramallah
An IDF soldier was reported to be fighting for his life at Yerushalayim’s Hadassah Hospital on Thursday, after Palestinian rioters dropped a marble slab on top of him from a three-story building in a refugee camp outside Ramallah.
Although his name has not been made public, IDF spokesman, Brigadier General Ronen Manelis identified him as a member of the Duvdevan special operations unit which had been sent to arrest a wanted terrorist in Al Amari.
Earlier on Thursday, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman promised that security forces would track down the terrorist responsible.
“We take this incident extremely seriously. This disgusting terrorist who harmed [the soldier] won’t see day or night. It won’t be long before we get him — dead or alive.”
“Our hearts go out to the soldier from Duvdevan and to his family in this difficult hour,” said Liberman. “The entire Jewish People is praying for his recovery.”
In another security incident on Thursday, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at IDF soldiers stationed near the town of Yitzhar in northern Shomron. The troops returned fire, but the assailant managed to escape. B’chasdei shamayim, no injuries were reported.
