In a statement, police said that security forces were determined to seize all weapons that were being held illegally by all people, in order to better protect all Israelis and residents of Palestinian Authority-controlled areas, who are also under threat by terrorists and criminals.

Also overnight Thursday, Arabs fired at IDF outposts in the Ramallah area. Israeli troops chased after the shooters, but they ran away. Several bullet casings were found. No injuries were reported among Israeli soldiers. Soldiers also arrested an Arab who was caught red-handed throwing a firebomb near the village of Azzun in central Shomron. Soldiers chased after the terrorist after he threw the bomb, and he was caught and detained. No injuries or damage were reported.

Overnight Thursday, security officials said they arrested 3 wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
