IDF Catches 2 Armed Infiltrators From Gaza
Two armed Palestinians who crossed the border from Gaza into Israel on Tuesday were apprehended by IDF soldiers, the army said.
Arrested shortly after their incursion into Israeli territory, the two were turned over to the Shin Bet for questioning. The army did not comment on what their specific plans might have been.
On Monday, four unarmed men were arrested after infiltrating from Gaza. They made their way past the security fence near Kibbutz Kissufim before being picked up by IDF soldiers. The suspects were handed over to the Shin Bet for interrogation.
The incidents come against the backdrop of violent protests organized by Hamas at the Gaza border fence in which 40 Gazans have been killed by Israeli troops since March 30, according to the Gaza health ministry.
