Security forces on Monday arrested a Gaza Arab who had snuck into Israel. The Arab was caught outside one of the Israeli towns along the Gaza border fence, and had apparently climbed over the fence in order to get into Israel. The Arab’s intentions in entering Israel were not clear, as no weapons were found on his person, but that did not obviate the possibility that he was to meet a contact in Israel who would provide him with weapons, security officials said. The Arab was being questioned Monday by security officials.

Also Monday, security forces seized numerous weapons from Arabs in the Yerushalayim area. Among the weapons seized in the confiscations in the villages of A-Ram and Doha, north and south of the city respectively, was an M-16 rifle. The weapons were seized and several arrests were made.

Overnight Sunday, security officials said they arrested 21 wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
