Palestinians Drop Claim of Two Gaza Men Killed by Drone Fire

YERUSHALAYIM -

The Islamic Jihad group in Gaza has withdrawn a claim made earlier on Tuesday that two of its members on a motorcycle were killed by an IDF drone while on en route to a terrorist mission.

They now say the blast that killed the two men occurred when explosives they were handling exploded.

The IDF had already issued a denial that it had anything to do with an air strike.

Palestinian Ma’an News agency quoted sources close to Islamic Jihad, who said the two men – Hussein Ghazi Hussein Nasrallah and Mustafa Sultan – belonged to the group’s armed wing, Saraya al-Quds, and had been working for its northern brigade’s engineering unit.

Smoke was seen rising from the Gaza Strip, the area where the attack was reported to have taken place.
