Report: 10 Jihadists Killed in Israeli Air Strike

YERUSHALAYIM

At least ten members of a jihadist group linked to Islamic State were killed Monday by Israeli air strikes in southern Syria, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

The monitor said the strikes hit members of the obscure Jaish Khaled Bin Walid group in the town of Sahm al-Jolan in the west of Daraa province. The strikes reportedly targeted a base belonging to the group, which has pledged allegiance to IS but had never formally joined it.

The Observatory relies on sources inside Syria, and says it identifies planes that carry out raids according to type, location, flight patterns and munitions used.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military on the report, following standing policy of not commenting on foreign media reports on IDF actions.

The Observatory estimates that Jaish Khaled Bin Walid has 1,200 fighters, and controls territory in western Daraa province, along the border with the Golan Heights.
