Arab Israeli Killed Fighting for Islamic State

YERUSHALAYIM -

An Arab Israeli citizen who joined Islamic State was reportedly killed in fighting around Homs recently.

Rami Hugirat, a former resident of Shefa-Amr in Israel, died while fighting in the ranks of IS, his family confirmed on Monday, according to The Jerusalem Post.

Hugirat, 40, had left Israel 15 years ago to live in Germany, and traveled to Syria about two years ago.

His brother, Salah Hugirat, claimed that his family did not know Hugirat was fighting for Islamic State, despite being in communication with his family on a daily basis. He was said to be interested in the well-being of his parents.
