IDF soldiers operating in the Chevron area overnight Monday dismantled a memorial that had been erected for a terrorist who stabbed an IDF soldier in 2015, and was subsequently shot by soldiers. The memorial stone for Biyan Asli, the female terrorist who stabbed the soldier, was placed close to the Kiryat Arba fence, and contained inscriptions praising her actions in attempting to murder Jews.

Asli attempted to stab a female soldier at an IDF checkpoint. According to the soldier, Asli, in the October 2015 attack, asked her for directions, and suddenly pulled out a knife, stabbing the soldier in the neck. The soldier responded quickly, pulling out a gun and shooting the terrorist. Asli later died from her wounds.

IDF troops operating in the Beit Lechem area overnight Monday came away with a weapons cache, consisting of submachine guns, handguns and large amounts of ammunition. Soldiers confiscated the weapons, and they are being tested to determine if they were used in terror attacks, the army said.

Overnight Monday, security officials said they arrested four wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
