Beitar Illit Resident Stabbed by Palestinian Hitchhiker

A 40-year-old resident of Beitar Illit was stabbed in the shoulder by a Palestinian hitchhiker and was lightly wounded Tuesday afternoon according to an initial report on Ynet.

The victim drove up to a security checkpoint in a blood-covered shirt and told authorities that he had been stabbed in the shoulder by a Palestinian man to whom he had given a ride. He said that after taking his car for servicing at a garage in al-Walaja, near Yerushalayim, he had been approached by this individual asking for a ride.

MDA paramedics called to the scene, who gave him first aid, described the man’s condition as stable and lightly wounded.

Beitar Illit residents frequently enter nearby Arab villages, such as Husan, to make use of goods and services, despite warnings from the IDF and police.
