Deri Proposes Independent Chareidi Radio Station

YERUSHALAYIM

Interior Minister Rabbi Aryeh Deri (Shas) said on Tuesday that he will fight for an independent chareidi radio station under the supervision of Rabbanim.

Speaking at a conference on religious broadcasting, Rabbi Deri said the state should provide the chareidi public with its own media without need to resort to fundraising drives.

Army Radio director Yaron Dekel said at the conference that it was his intention to integrate religious personnel at Army Radio, who can afterwards to go on to contribute to the broader field of Israeli broadcasting.
