Five Injured When Tractor Falls Through Roof of Store in NY

YONKERS, N.Y. (AP) —

Five people are being treated for injuries after a tractor plunged through the roof of a discount store north of New York City.

The Journal News reports that the tractor fell into a National Wholesale Liquidators store in Yonkers at about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Yonkers Deputy Fire Chief Thomas Fitzpatrick says a worker in a small tractor was performing work on the roof before it caved in.

Photos from the scene show a large portion of the roof collapsed onto store displays with the tractor on its side next to shelves.

Police said five people were taken to local hospitals with what appeared to be minor injuries.
