Israel Joins Comptrollers Confab in Abu Dhabi

For the first time, Israel has taken part in an international conference in Abu Dhabi, Arutz Sheva reported Thursday.

The delegation from the State Comptroller’s office, headed by its director, Eli Marzel, participated in the gathering, a congress of INTOSAI, The International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions.

Israel’s official presence was made possible through intensive diplomatic efforts on the part of the Foreign Ministry and foreign diplomats, particularly the Austrian comptroller Dr. Margit Kraker.

Eli Marzel spoke before the congress and also conducted meetings with tens of representatives from comptroller’s offices around the world.

It was also arranged that, in the near future, Israel will host an international seminar on the subject of cooperation between comptrollers’ offices around the world on issues of cyber-defense.

The slow thaw in relations with Abu Dhabi, a United Arab Emirates state, began last year when Israel opened a representative mission in the country.
