Brooklyn High-Rise Fire Kills Toddler

A 1-year-old boy died and two adults have been seriously injured Wednesday morning in a high-rise fire in Brownsville. The fire broke out at around 8:30 a.m. in a 13th floor kitchen at the Howard Houses. Ivan Baez was pronounced dead at a hospital. Six other people in the apartment were treated for smoke inhalation and minor injuries.
