Board Approves Increase for JCP&L
State regulators have approved a rate increase for Jersey City Power and Light. Beginning Jan. 1, the average customer will pay nearly $4 more a month.
The 3.6 percent increase approved by the Board of Public Utilities is less than the 4.6 percent that JCP&L had sought for its distribution rate. The $80 million in new revenue will be used to inspect lines and poles, maintain equipment and cut trees.
