Israel and Honduras Agree to Tighten Diplomatic and Security Ties
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met on Thursday with the president of Honduras, Juan Orlando Hernandez, who is on an official visit to Israel. This is the Honduran president’s second visit to Israel, the last one being in October 2015. The two leaders first met privately and later, there was a broader meeting that included ministers from both governments.
Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and the defense minister of Honduras, Samuel Armando Reyes Rendon, signed a declaration of security cooperation between the two countries.
Pursuant to existing bilateral agreements regarding security cooperation and the protection of classified documents, the sides decided to increase cooperation and tighten links. This will be done through cooperation on security equipment, training, reciprocal visits between defense ministries and cooperation regarding the transfer of technological information, all subject to the existing agreements.
The two countries also decided to cooperate on issues such as water and agricultural development.
