Besides being an important Torah center, Bnei Brak has also emerged as a major business and financial center – and that aspect of the city is set to grow even further, with the construction of a 50-story skyscraper on Jabotinsky Street, not far from the Ramat Gan Diamond Center.

Already home to several office towers, the new building, with 42,000 square meters of office and commercial space, will be the second tallest building in Israel, after an 80-story building in Tel Aviv which is currently under construction. The Bnei Brak structure, to be built by the Hachsharat Hayishuv construction firm, will cost NIS 1.5 billion when completed.

The building is part of a new commercial center consisting of 220,000 square meters of built space. The project was approved Tuesday by the Tel Aviv Regional Building Committee, after approval by the Bnei Brak Municipality. Part of the project will include another “biggest” – a 22-story building that will become the largest geriatric medical facility in Israel, designed to serve 1,000 full-time patients and thousands of outpatients. Other buildings will include various other medical facilities, shopping and parking. The project is expected to be completed by 2020.
