OU Congratulates Donald Trump

The leadership of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America – the nation’s largest Orthodox Jewish umbrella organization – issued the following statement in the aftermath of the election results:

The leadership of the Orthodox Union congratulates Donald Trump upon his historic election as the 45th President of the United States and Mike Pence upon being elected Vice President. The Orthodox Union also expresses its appreciation to Hillary Clinton for her years of service to the American people.
Now that the hard-fought campaign has ended, we look forward to working with other Americans to heal the divisions in American society and work to support policies that will move our country forward.
The Orthodox Union looks forward to working with President Trump and his Administration on issues of critical importance to our community including strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship, expanding educational opportunity and choice for all American children, defending America’s ‘first freedom’ of religious liberty and more.

The Orthodox Union also congratulates the many candidates who were elected and re-elected to the United States Senate and House of Representatives. We look forward to working closely with Congress in the service of our country.
