30,000 Uncertified Eggs Seized in Yehudah and Shomron

YERUSHALAYIM -

Some 1,000 trays of uncertified eggs (30,000 eggs) were seized by government inspectors in Yehudah and Shomron on Tuesday night. The eggs carried the forged imprints of three egg producers who have government permits.

The eggs, which were being transported from the Palestinian Authority into Israel when they were intercepted, had not been under veterinary or any other supervision. They are considered a serious health risk and were taken for destruction by the veterinary services.

The inspectors work together with the police on a regular basis to counter the smuggling of uncertified eggs into Israel.
