Fall Back an Hour, Remember to Change Batteries

BROOKLYN -

With Americans changing their clocks this weekend, falling back an hour, a Brooklyn lawmaker is reminding people to change the batteries of their smoke and carbon-monoxide detectors.

State Sen. Simcha Felder says that the fire department will distribute free batteries at locations around the city on Friday and Sunday. Batteries should be changed twice a year, so elected officials have suggested using the bi-annual clock-change as a convenient time for people to change their batteries.
