Forces Foil Yom Kippur Terror Attack Near Kiryat Sefer

B’chasdei Shamayim, a major terror attack was averted outside Modi’in Ilit (Kiryat Sefer) on the eve of Yom Kippur, it was released for publication Wednesday night. Five Arabs who participated in a shooting attack on Israeli Border Guards were arrested in recent days.

The five opened fire on the Border Guards from the village of Na’alin, located near Modi’in Ilit. The group’s fire missed the officers, and no injuries were reported. Several days later, IDF soldiers found the gang and arrested them. Two days later, the weapons used by the terrorists was discovered and confiscated.

Under questioning, the gang disclosed that they received weapons from an arms dealer in an Arab village in the Shomron. Security officials said that the information has led them to the source of the weapons, and the location of the workshop where it was made.

Overnight Wednesday, security officials said they arrested 5 wanted security suspects in other areas in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
