Israeli Air Force Responds to Syrian Missile Launch

YERUSHALAYIM -

The Israeli Air Force Monday night targeted a Syrian missile launch site associated with the Assad regime after a mortar landed on the Israeli side of the Golan Heights.

The mortar fell in an open area, causing no injuries or damage to property.

The IDF issued a statement saying that “it holds the Syrian regime as responsible for any action originating from within its borders, and will not tolerate any attempt to undermine Israel’s sovereignty or the security of it citizens.”

The incident was considered to be a likely result of the Syrian civil war rather than a deliberate attack on Israel.
