A security alert that had been issued for the Be’er Sheva area on Sunday afternoon was removed several hours after it was issued. Dozens of police were deployed in the Be’er Sheva area in the early afternoon in response to what police called a “security threat.” Motorists were redirected around police checkpoints throughout the afternoon, and dozens of police were stationed at key areas in the city.

Police did not elaborate on the reasons for issuing the alert, or why it was rescinded.
