Two Deputies, Shooter, Dead in Shooting at Michigan Courthouse

Two bailiffs were shot and killed by a prisoner who grabbed a sheriff deputy’s gun inside a courthouse in St. Joseph, Michigan, on Monday, before police shot and killed the prisoner.

Several other wounded people are in stable condition at Lakeland Regional Hospital, Berrien County Sheriff Paul Bailey told reporters at a news conference.

St. Joseph is in southwestern Michigan, near the border with Indiana. The courthouse is located several blocks from Lake Michigan.
