Palestinian Youth Group Link to Iran and Hizbullah Is Outlawed

YERUSHALAYIM

Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman has ordered a ban on the “Al-Harakat al-Shababi” organization (“The Youth Movement”), which has been engaging in violence under the direction of Iran and Hizbullah, Arutz Sheva reported.

Liberman signed the executive order outlawing the group, based on intelligence provided by the Shin Bet.

Under the guise of being a youth movement, its members have been behind many firebombings and attempts to sabotage the Yerushalayim light rail and instigate rioting on Har HaBayis.

The group is headed by Manir Shafik Salim Assly from Lebanon, and Helmy Ettya Mahmad Balbissy from Jordan. They have smuggled hundreds of thousands of shekels from Iran and Hizbullah to al-Shababi over the past two years.

During interrogation, the group’s Chevron area leader described his meetings with Hizbullah in Lebanon, where he was guided in planning attacks against Israelis, as well as promoting the overthrow of the Palestinian Authority.

In addition, the Shin Bet discovered that numbers of young people from Yehudah and Shomron and Yerushalayim have been regularly flying to Lebanon and Tunisia, under the pretense of participating in human rights conferences. The real purpose in many cases was to make contact with operatives from Iran and Hizbullah.
