Israeli Poll: Clinton, Trump Neck-and-Neck

YERUSHALAYIM -

Israelis are divided on the American presidential candidates, according to a local media poll published Wednesday.

Channel 2 asked people which would be better for Israel: 37 percent said Donald Trump and 36 percent said Hilary Clinton would be better. Asked who was better qualified to be president of the United States, 47 percent said Clinton and 31percent said Trump.

But perhaps the most revealing response was to the question about who they thought more likely to pressure Israel to make concessions to the Palestinians: 57 percent of respondents said Clinton was more likely to pressure Israel, compared to only 13 percent who said Trump.

As for Prime Minister Netanyahu’s relationship with the next president, 43 percent said he would get along better with Trump, while 34 percent thought he would do better with Clinton.
