NY Health Officials: Flu No Longer Prevalent in State
Breathe easier, New Yorkers. State health officials say the virus is no longer prevalent in the state.
Friday’s announcement formally halts a state regulation requiring health workers who are not vaccinated against the flu to wear masks when working around patients. That policy went into effect in February when the state first declared influenza to be prevalent within the state.
While specific flu seasons vary from year to year, the spread of the virus usually peaks in February.
