Cop Suspended After Man Hit With Baton Falls on Tracks
A transit police officer was suspended Tuesday for pepper-spraying and using a baton to hit a train passenger, who then fell off the platform and onto tracks.
The Delaware River Port Authority suspended Michael Fiocca and has referred the May 3 incident to Camden County prosecutors.
Fiocca said in his report he believed Ryan Patterson, 48, was trying to stay on the train longer than his ticket allowed and approached him at the Woodcrest PATCO station in Cherry Hill and asked for his ticket. Patterson responded angrily and a struggle ensued. Fiocca sprayed him in the face and Patterson fell onto the tracks.
