Poll: Israelis Favor Clinton Over Trump
More Israelis think their country would fare better with Hillary Clinton in the White House rather than Donald Trump, according to a new poll.
Israel Democracy Institute poll published on Monday said that 38 percent of respondents said that Clinton would “be better from the standpoint of Israeli interests,” versus 28 percent for Trump.
This did not mean, however, that they thought Trump was unfriendly to Israel. Some 62.5 percent believe he would be committed to safeguarding Israel’s security, as opposed to 21% who expressed doubt.
Despite her advantage over Trump, a large minority do not see her as a reliable friend of Israel. Half of those polled said they trust her when she said in a letter to the Jewish community before Pesach that as president she would block international efforts to attack or isolate Israel, while 41 percent did not trust her to fulfill that pledge.
