Shin Bet: Security Situation Back at Pre-October Levels

Israel has experienced 282 terror attacks since last October, when the latest round of increased Arab terrorism began, according to figures released last week by the Shin Bet.

Of those attacks, 195 were stabbing attacks, 82 were shooting attacks, and five were attacks in which bombs were used.

Thirty four Israelis, Hy”d, were killed in attacks since October, most of them in 2015. Six were killed during the first four months of 2016.

Seventy-seven attacks have been foiled since the beginning of 2016. Among the attacks prevented were 21 in which terrorists planned to stab or run over IDF soldiers or civilians, 5 suicide bombings, seven kidnapping attempts, and 44 shooting attacks.

A total of 2,441 terrorists have been arrested since October.

B’chasdei Shamayim, Shin Bet officials report that the situation has calmed down significantly in recent weeks. Officials said that the frequency of attacks has slowed, and has now reached pre-October levels.
