Rocket Fire From Syria Kills Man in Turkish Town
Turkey’s state-run news agency says a rocket projectile fired from Syria has hit a Turkish border town, killing at least one person and wounding several others.
The death Monday raises the number of fatalities from rockets fired into the border town of Kilis this year to 20.
Anadolu Agency says the man was killed while walking on a street in Kilis. A house in Kilis also caught fire, the agency reported.
Kilis, where Syrian refugees outnumber locals, has been hammered by cross-border fire since mid-January.
Earlier, the Turkish military said that artillery shelling and drone attacks by the U.S.-led coalition have struck Islamic State positions in Syria and killed a total of 63 terrorists.
