Stabbing Attack Prevented North of Yerushalayim
Israeli security forces shot and killed two Arab terrorists who had attempted to carry out a stabbing attack at the Kalandiya checkpoint outside Yerushalayim on Wednesday morning. The two terrorists had attempted to advance on Border Guards at the checkpoint, and had refused to halt. One of them pulled out a knife, and security officials opened fire and shot at them, neutralizing them. B’chasdei Shamayim, no Israelis were wounded in the attack.
In other security incidents, an IDF vehicle that accidentally entered an Arab village in the Chevron area was “greeted” by rock throwing attackers early Wednesday, security officials said. The incident occurred in the village of Beit Faj’r, north of Chevron.
The soldiers in the vehicle managed to extricate themselves from the attack by putting the vehicle in reverse and driving backwards. No one was injured in the incident, but there was damage to the vehicle.
Overnight Tuesday, security officials said they arrested 2 wanted security suspects in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for participating in rioting and throwing stones and firebombs that endangered Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers. Several of the suspects were also charged with belonging to Hamas. All were being questioned on their activities by security forces.
