Plane From Brussels Searched After Landing in Florida

SANFORD, Fla. (AP) —

A TUI Airlines plane that arrived from Brussels was searched by law enforcement personnel upon landing at a central Florida airport.

Orlando Sanford International Airport executive director Diane Crews says the search of the plane on Tuesday was done in an abundance of caution. She says the plane took off from Brussels shortly before two bombs exploded at the city’s international airport.

Crews says the flight’s 269 passengers got off the plane on the tarmac and were taken to the terminal by bus. Security officials were still searching the passengers’ bags Tuesday afternoon.

Around Florida, security was tightened at Miami International Airport and Orlando International Airport. New measures include more visible police officers and K-9 dogs in terminals.

Airport employees were being asked to keep their eyes open to any unusual activities.
