Forecasters are expecting snow on Sunday, the first day of spring, in New York and New Jersey.

The National Weather Service is forecasting three to five inches of snow across central and northern New Jersey from a strong coastal storm Saturday night through Monday morning. The forecast for much of southern New Jersey calls for an inch or less. A worst-case scenario forecast by the weather service calls for five to eight inches in parts of the state.

In New York City, according to weather.com, one to three inches of snow are forecast for Sunday, with high temperatures expected to be 35 degrees. But spring-like temps are just around the corner: Highs are expected to reach 45 degrees on Monday, 49 degrees on Tuesday, and 57 degrees on Wednesday, and in the 60’s from Thursday through the weekend.
