Property Tax Credit for Seniors Expires Next Week

NEW YORK (Hamodia staff) —

A property tax credit for New York City’s senior citizens is expiring next week and a lawmaker is reminding eligible residents to take advantage of it.

State Sen. Simcha Felder says that property owners, or even a co-owner, that will be 65 by Dec. 31, 2016, may be eligible for Enhanced STAR (School Tax Relief). Total household income cannot exceed $84,550. Applications must be postmarked by March 15, next week Tuesday.
