Police Arrest Rahat Stabber
Police on Wednesday announced that they had arrested a 17-year-old terrorist who several weeks ago stabbed an Israeli woman in the market of the Bedouin city of Rahat in southern Israel.
The terrorist is a resident of the village of Yatta, near Chevron. Police plan to indict him for attempted murder. A Be’er Sheva court has extended his remand until the end of proceedings against him. Residents of the city said that they had helped in the search, and that they believed in coexistence and condemned all forms of violence.
In the attack, a 65-year-old woman from a nearby kibbutz was stabbed, and then taken to a hospital with moderate wounds.
