Man Killed After Being Caught in Doors of F Train in Queens
A man was dragged and killed after he was caught in the doors of a subway train in Queens on Monday night, the MTA said.
At around 6:45 p.m., 51-year-old Edward Leonard tried getting onto an F Train at the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens station as the doors were closing. He was caught between the doors but could not get his whole body inside, and the train started moving.
After being dragged across the platform, Leonard was taken to Jamaica Hospital. He was later pronounced dead.
According to DNA.info, Leonard had been living at South Ozone Park’s Skyway homeless shelter.
