Greenfield Offering Free Mortgage Legal Advice
Councilman David Greenfield is again partnering with Brooklyn Housing and Family Services to provide one-on-one mortgage counseling to residents of his district, his office announced Tuesday.
An attorney will be available to meet with homeowners who are in danger of losing their homes or who have encountered changes in their financial circumstances. Appointments can be arranged by calling (718) 853-2704.
“Financial stress, life changes, and other circumstances can cause people to fall behind on their mortgage payments,” Greenfield said, “too often resulting in unnecessary foreclosures.”
Greenfield said that his district, comprised of Boro Park, Midwood and Bensonhurst, is home to a “significant number” of homeowners who are at risk of foreclosure.
