Suspect Shot After Holding Up Cellphone Store on Ave. P

BROOKLYN

A suspect was shot by police late Thursday morning while attempting to flee after a robbing a cellphone store on the corner of Avenue P and East 2nd Street.

Two men entered the Verizon store located at 418 Avenue P, while one or two other men stayed in a car outside. The two men guns, and ordered everyone to lie on the floor, before making off with 50 iPhones. The two men then fled in the car.

According to WABC7, a store manager jumped into his own car, followed the suspects, and flagged down a police car. Soon thereafter, several police cars tried pulling over the getaway car, a Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep struck two other cars, then crashed into a tree at Ave. O and east 14th Street.

As the Jeep’s occupants exited the car and began fleeing, one of them pointed a gun at the cops, and an officer opened fire, hitting the suspect in the stomach.
According to PIX11, the suspect is in stable condition at Kings County Hospital. Two guns were recovered from the scene.

In addition to the suspect who was shot, police arrested two other suspects, and believe there may be a fourth still on the loose, Robert Moskovitz, Executive Coordinator of Flatbush Shomrim, told Hamodia.
