Three Arab youths carrying knives were arrested Sunday morning outside a shul in the Kiryat Moshe neighborhood of Yerushalayim. Police believe the three were planning to conduct a mass stabbing terror attack in the shul. The three were detained and are being questioned.

The Heichal Yaakov shul is one of the largest in the neighborhood, and dozens of people were davening Shacharis there at the time.

Security officials said that despite the fact that terror attacks had, b’chasdei Shamayim, dropped sharply in recent weeks, it was too early to say that things had returned to normal. Last Thursday, an Arab terrorist tried to stab soldiers at the entrance to Beit Anoun, an Arab village near Chevron – in exactly the same place where a similar stabbing attempt took place earlier in the week. Soldiers saw the terrorist approaching them with an exposed knife and warned him to stop, then shot him in the leg when he continued to advance. The injured terrorist was treated at the scene and taken into custody.

Overnight Motzoei Shabbos, IDF troops arrested four wanted security suspects in Yehudah and Shomron. The suspects were wanted for rioting and carrying out various rock, firebombing, and other terror attacks.
