The New York state unemployment system is experiencing technical problems with its website and telephone lines, causing problems for people looking to file or claim jobless benefits.
The state’s Department of Labor said Monday morning that it is a working to resolve the problem.
It is unclear how long the outage is expected to continue.
An agency spokeswoman did not immediately respond to questions about the cause of the outage or how many people might be affected.
