Belgium: 2 Terror-Plot Suspects to Appear in Court

BRUSSELS (AP) —

The two men arrested in Belgium on suspicion of planning terrorist attacks for the end of the civil year are due to appear on Thursday before a magistrate, who will decide whether to hold them for another month.

The suspects were arrested following searches in Brussels and other areas of Belgium. Authorities said the police investigation revealed a serious threat of attacks on police, soldiers and significant sites in Brussels.

Later in the day, Brussels city leaders are expected to decide if the traditional annual fireworks show should proceed or be canceled.
